Encouraging pollinators

According to the USDA, honey bees are the third most important livestock type and play a vital role in the production of over 150 food crops in the US. A lack of pollinators such as the honey bee will reduce availability of some fruits and vegetables.

We need to make a change and encourage more bees. However large or small your space you can help by planting flowers attractive to them. Southern Living lists 12 bee friendly flowers which will also create lovely displays for you to enjoy. https://www.southernliving.com/garden/flowers/flowers-for-bees

Don’t forget Potrisers under your containers. And if you decide to go the extra mile and install a bee hive you can use Potrisers for some extra elevation if needed.
