Roses are wonderful fragrant plants for growing in pots. Just about any type of rose can be grown in a pot, as long as the pot is large enough to hold the volume of soil needed to sustain the size of the plant.
Roses in pots can be grown in even the smallest amount of outside space, such as on a city balcony or garden patio. If you place pots indoors, on outside walkways or near seating areas you will be able to enjoy their delightful scent as you pass by. Generally, roses with the best scents have darker colours, more petals, and thick or velvety petals. Red and pink roses often smell like what we think of as a “rose”. White and yellows smell of violets, nasturtium, and lemon. Intense yellow and orange roses can smell of fruits, nasturtium, violets, and clove.
Don’t distract attention from your beautiful potted rose displays. Use invisible Potrisers underneath your pots and protect your surfaces.
